Fall Kraken Con 2014

Kraken Con was a blast!
What makes it so great?
Having tons of wonderful friends to ride along with you for the adventure!

Saturday: I dressed as my pokemon trainer and got to hang out with sam who cosplayed as Pokemon Red. I made his jacket and our Poke-balls.
Saturday was also more of a smash because the voice actor of "James of team rocket", "Brock", Seto Kaiba", Eric S. was there and we got to meet him and get his autograph!!
He even said "James" in the voice of the character and i just melted! Love James <3

Sunday: My friends and i changed our minds over dinner saturday night, to be Punk versions of  our beloved Attack on Titan characters.
To be honest, i was very nervous about do this, that i would not be able to pull off a casual, modern type, full MALE Eren but low and behold, i think i did a fantastic job!
And what made it more awesome was that people at the con actually recognized us! and we got asked to do a photo shoot! (not the one displayed here though).

Lots of warm hugs and huge laughs and bright smiles happened this weekend n it really fills me up to where i see that all the bad things in life do not ever out weigh the good things.

2B A Master

A Dream Made Real
This outfit is not only based off Pokemon but a dream i had.
I dreamt that i was part of this pokemon scavenger hunt and had to brave a forest with a lot of other trainers. Survive and find pokemon.
Its hard to recall much other details about the dream but i do remember for a fact that this was the outfit i was wearing (and the pokemon drawn were the ones i found).

My Pokemon League Shirt

Just a simple white shirt i cut up, dyed, and painted (though i am going to remake it since i'm still not the best dye expert...).

Poke-Balls

Just normal large and small foam balls you can buy in packs at art stores.
Acrylic red paint, mod podge, power grab glue, craft foam and red nail polish (OH! and the craft black and white foam i glued onto the balls with hot glue).

Good Evening Blog

Hello dear Blog,

Boy its been a while. The new semester really have me hanging by the gills! Lots of reading but at least they are interesting.
Mythology is by far my favorite class!

SummerSacAnime2014
Beyond a blast. Got to camp out with other friends in a different hotel and be Armin Arlet for a day Friday. Saturday was the best because not only did my family of Full Hot Cosplay get to do another panel, the eng voice actor of Armin Arlert, Josh Grelle, came and saw us! Meet him, getting interviewed while i was Eren, being called "a very detailed Eren", making fans happy, seeing friends sing in the kereoke contest, seeing friends appear before my eyes!! Being a vocaloid sunday with a Len! This was by far the best Sac Anime yet. I look forward to more!

Cosplay's
Even though I feel really swamped with hanging out with friends and work and school, it seems hard to get back into the "making cosplay" groove...LIFE! Quit throwing off my groove!! xP
However, i have made lots more progress on my Dramatical Murder cosplay; Aobas glove/shirt/wig and Ren. I have also got Clear's scarf done! Next I wanna work on the head phones, details on Ren, and styling the wig!

Back to the books><

My Best Jaeger face from Sac Anime 2014

My friend Kal who is also the Jean in our AoT family,
Was Dave of Home Stuck and decided to take a selfie with me as Eren.

Honestly, this is my most fave. pic. of my Jaeger face!
I just love it!
And sac anime was great! I must tell story soon when i have free time again!

Till then,
enjoy "nervous Eren"

Very late...no date...time to say hi or hello...late late late

WOW! been ceos since i last wrote anything here.
Been working two jobs all summer and finally have a free week.
Been cleaning and getting ready for new semester.
Also been enjoying a few trips along the with with friends and family.

Recently -
My AoT family, "Full Hot Cosplay" and I had an over night camping trip in the Calaveras State Park with them "big ass trees". We went in full cosplay with our whole group (minus a few who couldn't make it cause of other missions). It was a blast! though i'm requesting a tent next time with people who don't snore! XP i couldn't believe our beloved Reiner snored like a bear and woke Jean and I up a few times. heh.

Aside from not sleeping, taking pictures in the forest was great! Lots of tourist and what was great about tourist at the time was that lots of them would walk by us and cheer us on. The majority of them had no idea what we were doing, they liked the abnormality i guess. Few said it was wired and strange but all the cheers made up for it.

Even made a few fans happy! We had just got onto the trial when a girl erupted with a shriek and pointed at us and asked for a picture. And a worker, with a pickax n construction hat new AoT. x3

That was really a great camping trip. And soon after i get a call from my other friends n out "Willo-the-Wisp Cosplay" asking if i would par-take in an Angle Island Camping/cosplay/beach clean up trip.
And now i'm debating on weather i want to casual cosplay as Armin, Petra, Aoba or Will....

Above all, this summer has gone by too fast...lots has happened and things keep on happening. I like it.
I hope to be back into sewing once school starts up again ( i work better that way).

!!! ALSO! "Full Hot Cosplay" is holding a panel for Sac Anime 2014 in Sacramento! Looking forward to an hour full of shenanigans!
Till Next Time

"we'll always be the best of friends"

After three years and with a little advice from a new friend and a nifty PLUSH TUTORIAL (with a few modifications to the pattern of my own), I finally re-made my "Burupya" pink dragon Mikage plush from "07-Ghost".

"07-Ghost" is a very great yet under appreciated story.

The top picture here is the first version I made back in...oh jeez...when i was in middle school.
I was so proud of this little guy! I made it all by hand and added a sand bag inside to give it wait. Guess you could call it my first attempt at sewing >3<

I made it out of felt, iron on eyes n scar and mouth, wire hot glued between felt layers for the ears and pink feathers.

The new one is made out of soft pink fleece, felt, pipe-cleaners, black and pink sewing thread, and pink yarn.

He is so cuddly and rests perfectly on my shoulder <3
Makes me very happy to see how much i have grown in the stitches of the sewing art.

too long...

So my fanime post was a little long. Well, tons of fun things DID happen and i just wanted to share.
For a change of things i'll share some Dramatical Murder progress shots and a vid.

Now Aoba is all brushed out and ready to be styled! Next i think i'll be starting Clear's scarf, Aoba's shirt, headphones, hand bag and glove. And maybe i'll dye Ren soon too.

Process?
Bought a "vocaloid kaito" wig off of ebay
yet the picture was very misleading and the wig arrived in two parts.
A short, scruffy wig and a clip...SO
I took the wefts out of the clip and sewed those to the wig.
Ordered a "light blue" wig clip off ebay and took the wefts out of that and colored them with sharpie.
However, like i mentioned in video, the ink was staining my hands and i did not want Aoba's jacket to to turn blue. So i found a nifty sharpie dye tutorial on Arda Wigs and followed that.
But we'll see once i make the jacket....i might seal it with pledge again to be safe.
(Again? since i didn't use sharpie throughout the whole wig i didn't think i would need much pledge). we'll see. Then you just brush it out with a fine tooth comb, starting from the bottom and working your way to the top till its nice a feathery again.

Fanime 2014

Fanime. Never a dull moment for i was running around all weekend.

Thurs - Stayed over a Mikasa's house for the night so on friday we would be able to load up the car and head towards the convention center early (however, early is always an understatement). I stayed up far too late for my taste because i was working on our Magical Girl (madoka magica) school uniforms (never going to do things lats minute. ever).

Friday - I sadly could not go with the first group towards the convention because the uniforms were still not done. I was close to chucking the project out the window because i mainly had to work on it alone when others told me they could/would help...even if they did pull a few bricks of weight, they could have done more...While stressing over and literally taking deep breaths to calm myself, my brother comes over to me and begins rubbing my back and tell me that "it'll look great" "you can do this". And that was enough to help me finish the costumes.
Once I arrived at the convention center, i hung-out in our hotel room. It was directly connected to the con. so it was really easy access however, to get meals and drinks you either settle for the coffee place inside the hotel, or walk a few blocks to where restaurants were. (I did much walking about that weekend).
Some of our AOT group were already at the con. and were having some food together so i headed out, ahead of Mikasa to meet up with everyone for one last rehearsal call.

Saturday -
Mikasa and I got up at 6:30am and geared up for the panel which started at 9:00am (seriously, i couldn't believe we had a full house that early on a sat. morning). Even though my nerves were twitching like crazy, i did my best!
My date, who surprised me by greeting me at the end of the show, said i did a great job capturing "Eren's intense eye look", even though i think i could do much better, it was very nice to hear.
People loved the connection i had with Jean and how much we got to push each other around.
Doing this panel was tons of fun and i sure hope to do another one soon. Our captian is thinking of getting it ready again for Sac Anime and this time, we'll make it sharper then before. BUT who knows.

After the panel, we took tons of group selfies and silly ooc shots. Just to break the tension. Once that tension was broken, everyone headed out to grab lunch and meet up at the park. And after eating, more photos were taken.

Heh, being commander is a full time job, so our Erwin took a short nap on the park bench.
Whoops, the captain will not let him live this down!

And my dear sis - er, Mikasa. I wanted to fix up her scarf so i re-wrapped it around her head.

Then Jean and I got a lovely bro pic. together <3 while Mikasa got a head-shot.

And then this was very cool! while were all taking photos and being silly, two titan's came over and asked for a full group photo with us!! The Eren and Annie titan!!
Then i got an idea for all those ErenxMikasa fans. resting my head in Mikasa's lap. It was suppose to be a shot for just me and mikasa yet everyone was in a sudden "AW". They exploded when i reached up to touch her hair. >3<
And pretty soon...other AoT fans started showing up thinking that our group was the beginning of the AoT gathering...when it was really just us friends having fun in our gear...We tech. started the gathering up for others! Heh! You're welcome AoT fans!
Then, while we were taking a whole group shot, a cosplayer dressed as Eren's mother being eating by a titan shows up!! I just love that i was the first Eren to shout "mother!" and run up to hold her. She was such a sweetie and it literally brought a tear to my eyes...playing Eren all morning till late afternoon, really stuck with me... No dout about it. I had become Eren Jaeger.
Since lots of people began to show, we thought it was a good time to call AoT a day. So Mikasa and I went back to the room to chillax for a bit before heading to the dealers hall.
Once that was done, I was basically on my own. made a few purchases for friends then took a shower and changed into Elie from Rave Master for few hours.
It was really awesome that a few people remember Rave Master however, i really wish others would stop calling me Lucy from Fairy Tail...Lucy is a blond. And Elie is a Burnett. *face palm

while walking about as Elie i met a very sweet Mami cosplayer from Madoka Magica! She told me about her plushie site and we exchanged numbers so hopefully she'll be able to give me a few pointers for when i start building some plushies x3

I then met back up with everyone and headed back to the room for the night.
Everyone was getting ready for the rave that night except i didn't have enough energy to go. So i stayed behind in the room and finished up the school uniforms. All i had to do was attach snaps and our front and back bows. Then i chilled on the bed a bit till I fell asleep

Sunday -
Getting to sleep into till 7:30 this time was great (although i felt wrung out all weekend) and it was time for MAGICAL GIRLS!!
For Brunch Madoka, Homura and I treated ourselves to some delicious pastries. And during these pastries, we got sweet complements from two beauties and took a picture with them.

Madoka had a slice of cheese cake while me as Sayaka had an apple tart!

After the sweetness and taste of sugar, we headed towards the park and took more photos and ran about for a while.
I am so glad the weather was PERFECT that weekend! Not too hot nor too cold. Fanime has been known in the past for not too great of weather.

Below is just a little dorky video and me and Madoka just being us^^

I can't stress enough just how proud i am of all the uniforms. The look good, we can move about it them easily enough, and its lots of fun to play in and be cute school gals!
After taking many shots with Madoka, Homura eventually cought up with us and thus the photos of "ModaHomura" began. Yet, Sayaka was on her own and so made her way to the dealers hall and artist alley.
There i found and purchased tons of lovelythings and took photos with just about every Dramatical Murder Aoba cosplayer i came across!! Eventually i met back up with Madoka and Homura and we all hung out in the artist alley for a while.
Then Suddenly, i found Kyoko!
I hope to take and meet with her again to have more magical shindigs! She was a sweetie. and i think she might have been the one who turned in my badge at the lost and found. Or not.
I was literally trying so hard not to have a huge break down when i noticed my badge was lost...and took make it more amusing, while this was going on and my friend was comforting me, i heard tons of people who were walking by and commenting "aw, poor sayaka".
Yeah. Poor me. It really sucked and i was prepared for the worst yet my badge was waiting for me at the lost and found. Thank you! To whoever turned it in! In the brief second, i realized that there are nice people in the world. So much thanks.
After that whole scene, I met back up with Homura and we went to look for something for my brother! And met up with our Hangi and Levi! They are so sweet and precious! I hope to see and work with them more!

As the day progressed into early evening, Madoka and I took a few more shots but this time, a bit more depressing.
With these photos i really wanted to capture the moment between Sayaka and Modoka where Sayaka began to feel the pressure of being a Magical Girl and being dead.

I thank my Madoka for pulling through for me and doing such a fab job and even agreeing to do this with me. <3

I took one last walk through the convention center as Sayaka before heading back to the room and this moment unfolded before me!!
While waiting for the elevators, I took out my soul gem and turned it on. Suddenly i hear a little gasp. I look over and see a little girl who stared at me with wide eyes. I waved at her and she comes over and asks "Are you Sayaka?" I smile and say "yeah! I'm Sayaka" "Can i take a picture with you?" "Sure. Would you like to hold the soul gem"? She beamed such a bright smile and once the picture was taken she asked for a hug. While i held her she looked up at me and said "you're my favorite".
I just about died! This is one of the reasons why i love to cosplay. I see kids faces light up with joy once the see they are meeting their fav. characters. And it continues! The elevator was taking a while to get to our floor, so i got over and start pressing the button and asking "I wonder why this is taking so long?" the kid steps up next to me and comments "maybe its a witch", "If its a witch", I say "gonna have to be careful".
"Can't you use your soul gem"? "I could but i don't want anyone to get hurt. So stay close" then the elevator door  opens and we get on. As we ride the elevator the girl comments (she really got into it) "so far no witches". "so far" then suddenly the door opens and its my friend who just happened to be dressed as a witch from "MM". He was dressed as the witch that killed Mami. He had a mask with the face and everything! The girl freaks and points "THE WITCH!" while still on the elevator, i step in-front of her then shove the witch off the elevator on to the next floor. I look over the shoulder and say to the girl "don't worry i'll handle it!" and as the elevator closes i could hear the girl shout "GO SAYAKA!!"
I still cannot believe that actually happened!!! Best memory of 2014!!

Once back in the room, i changed into Allen Walker for the Black and White Ball. And i was able to make one DGM fan really happy. I offered her a dance and she blew her mind! Such a sweetie and i am so happy i could give that moment to her.
Sadly we did not stay for too long. But we manage to get a few photos at the Fairmont Hotel.
I tired out a new scar make-up thing for Allen yet i think i'll add more red next time since that is what defies the character xP

Mon - Even though it was crazy getting out of the hotel, having a picnic at the park and playing friz-bi with everyone was a great ending to a long, full weekend!!
Looking back, i don't regret anything! Auditioning for Eren and being part of my first panel and finishing costumes at last minute, well worth all the effort.
FIN~

Attack on Fanime Project

I cannot express all the lovely feels i have for these "peeps". So far, auditioning for this panel is one of the best highlights of 2014 for me.

This past weekend we gathered at a park in Dublin and made our advertisement video for the "AoT" panel Attack on Fanime. The park looked so much like the training grounds from AOT anime and i can't wait to got back there, once i have my cadet jacket made, ready for more photos and scene reenactments.

I had tons of fun working with these guys and getting hit by Annie. (it was really cool how well she and I worked together. We automatically knew what we were doing) xP I am very proud of myself for not going into hysterics. Sure i laughed a few but kept it more in controlled this time. x3

As far as our outfits go, Mikasa and I are still working on our 3DMG boxes and jets. sadly, mine will not be ready for the con. however i should have the thigh belts finished by this weekend.
The harnesses have been sewed together, cleaned and so far hold up nicely. As so do my boots! i am very happy about that! And i love my new wig! it works great and members on the team really approve on it too A+

As tired as I am from all the activities (including finals and work happening at the same time) things are going swell and i look forward to seeing how this coming fanime will be.

This would never have been possible if not for the creator of AoT. So a big BIG TITAN size thanks to Hajime Isayama! We are very proud and overly joyed to be able to play such amazing characters!

Updates updates updates!

SOOOOOOooooo! New wig for Eren has arrived and my Armin wig has been colored a shade darker!
Nothing was PARTICULARLY wrong with my other wig for Eren...yet getting it to appear as short as this new one from Arda-Wigs was tricky and it only seemed to work in a few shots. (it'll look better once i'm wearing the whole outfit and have on makeup).
My wig for Armin was too bright. I bought it off of ebay for 17$. The picture was misleading :( (really taken your chances ordering off of ebay). However, it was a great opportunity to try and dyeing a wig. I figured that if it didn't turn out right or got destroyed, i was content with buying a new one at the convention. YET! it came out quite nice! I tired a classic wig dying tutorial that calls for you to use sharpie ink (ONE dark brown colored sharpie), water and rubbing alcohol. You put all into a bottle. Shake it well and leave it somewhere to set for a few days (hours, one night, whatev). And since i've been a lazy bum, i just poured the mixture onto the wig. Little by little. Then i remembered some light brown leather shoe paint i had (from an old Black Butler get up) and thought, why not? So, i got that out and lightly sprayed the rest of the paint onto the wig (while flipping the wig inside out and upside down at times). Also, i was pouring the sharpie mixture onto it as well.
I started to get carried away, so quickly i put the wig under the hose and used some shampoo to rub out part of the wig that got too dark.
Then i let it drip dry over night and and wha-lah! Yet, we'll see once i'm in full gear and makeup.

BELTS ARE OUR TRIGGER!! Mikasa and I stayed up till 3:20 in the morning figuring this system (well, she did) out. we got most of the things sewed down for now. Next is the 3DMG boxes and blades.

These boots are made for....killing titans!

Boots are my trigger!

Found some boots at good-will for...what, $15? I'm using them as the base for Eren's boots b/c they have the same shape! And even better, they have a bit of a heel when all other boots sold have to have spiked or too long or thick of a heel. So i can pull of Eren's hight (yet i'm no THAT short).
My first time working with vinyl and i really like look and texture. Although i have to be extra nice to (Mirabell) my sewing machine now. She really pulled through for me <3
All that is left is too glue the cover completely to the boot and attach the side laces.

I am tired....fighting off allergies...i'm so screwed for stats tomorrow....

San Francisco Japan Town
casual Eren and Mikasa

Fanime is right around the corner. So are college finals....and i have two jobs to work over the summer too!
busy busy busy.

Been prepping for many things.
Eren gonna be getting a new wig soon. Hopefully it will arrive before fanime. Even though this one works good enough...i've seen others that i think will be even more better. Willing to go the extra mile and pay bit more.

Have things to share! yet not sure when...Got a little trip coming up for myself this weekend! Wonder how that will turn out? B)

Can't stop deh cosplay!

Some new things have joined the pile of MUST DO!

For my birthday dad bought me a few wigs from ebay!
One for Aoba of Dmmd and one for Clear of Dmmd. As much as i want to work on Aoba and Clear, i have to finish and start a few other projects. I'm thinking of making Aoba and Clear be fall projects.

While i was at fantasy fair i found this really nifty crystal necklace that reminded me so much of the old cartoon W.I.T.C.H. I had to buy it.
I've had "Will" on my list and the wig since before i graduated high school. So i really think i should pull this together before Aoba and Clear. Plus a Renaissance Faire will be happening in June and i'd really like to go! If i can finish Will's guardian form by then, i'll go as her!
Yet the necklace. I would like to modify it yet my heart is a little nervous about it because the lady who made it worked so hard to create it and all of her other things. As one artist to another, i feel like i would be tarnishing her art work. I dunno...

*fingers crossed*
Over all, i'm very happy with my new tim <3
can't wait to put him on my head^^

Just two more to go then start the tops. xP

my friend had just showed me the trailer for the anime and i am in love with the art style!!
Although i have no idea if i can or even want to pull this character off...i'd like to, yet can i?
I have many other projects to start/finish.....
MMMM!!!!

Attack on My Life!

Remade Erens shirt and completed deh sash.
Both were a lot of fun to construct.
I am in love with my new shirt b/c this time i chose some better fabric. More stretch and it breaths very very well! Also, i used the right needle this time xP it is super comfy to wear. I slept in it the night before meeting our AOT group for fanime and was soooo cozy!
The jackets are 99.5% done. All Mikasa and I are waiting for is our patches for the back to arrive.
I am very very proud with how far i have flown with my sewing abilities.

Annoyance Among Cosplayers

Ok. I have had it.
If one person gives me or anyone else shit about their costumes, how they appear, their pose, even FACIAL expressions! I"M GONNA BITE YOUR HEAD OFF!

What set this off?
simple.
while surfing a site for cosplay pics, i came across tons of negative comments regarding an AOT pic.
The comments just bugged me.
All people could say were negative things like:
"You're not saluting right"
"You're body language is wrong"
"Levi's too happy here"

GIVE IT UP!!
People. We do this for fun.
(yes, i am aware that many of this is hitting at things I have said in the past. At least i know it. and i will work on it).
When people start taking it too seriously, no one is having fun and that could hurt peoples chances of ever wanting to go to conventions or gatherings again.
And is that what you want?

People mention the negatives because it is the easy way of expression.
That is BS!
MY mission, no matter who i meet or character i come across, i'll spread words of encouragement.

And i swear. If I see or hear ANYONE giving someone else a bad time, I'll walk over, say "excuse me" and take that person away from that negativity. Or even better, i'll tell the person off!

And in regards to me playing Eren.
I'm doing this because i want to.
For fun and love of series.
If you do not like how i choose to play him that is YOUR problem not MINE.

Take a Break!

From AOT, huh? =)

My Rave Master Elie Tom-pah Blasters are about 98% finished!
All i have to do now is use black fabric paint to cover up some stitches and make the holder for them and attach it to my belt!

Sutffies used to create these consist of:
PVC pipe
PVC pipe caps and rings(i actually had no need for the ring b/c i made other rings from the caps. I had my dad cut a bit off),
thick black foam
rubber bands and string
mixture of acrylic red paint
Gesso paint (white)
Modge-Podge
Power Grab glue
black fabric paint
and "Rust-Oleum"- Crystal Clear Enamel - spray polish for the final touch
=3

Character

I usually do not approve of wearing make-up b/c it always makes my face feel as if i am wearing wights on my face. However, my friend aka Mikasa, always blows my mind away with her creation.

Jackets are close to done!
I also have been working on character development for Eren. His character is very difficult to get into.
I've read and seen a lot of people portray Eren as the emotion "anger". Yet to me, i want to go deeper than that. Because he is not soul set angry. He has moments when he's annoyed, nervous, excited, encouraging ect. He is more than just plain angry. Ex. episode five before he gets eaten, he tries to cheer Armin up. Another ep, he smiles at little kids who are admiring the survey corps from a window. Or another, in the earlier eps, he appears really nervous after hearing Sasha talk back to their superior or when she steals the meat.Sure they are characters on paper, however to bring them to life on stage or at a convention, you have to give them a whole new form. They have shape on a page now give them shape in reality. This is my take on it, "my design" as it were.=) This has helped me understand and get deeper into this role. And I feel as if I am almost there. I want to pull off a great Eren. I want people to look at me and see Eren. Believing that this really is Eren. I want to capture that feeling. Like the feeling you get when you meet Disney characters. You feel that they are real.I really want to make people happy at the panel. I want to bring an outstanding Eren to life for them...i'm not sure i can pull this off...but i'm gonna do it. I may not have the answer, only going off advice and tips may not being enough to cut it, "but i've got more guts than anyone. And that is my weapon".

please rain again....

I like sewing when it's raining....

ANyWaYs

These were taking with new make-up tests!

More progress has been made! I have re-made the collars, new epaulets and have started working with the sleeves.

I made the new epaulets out of the first collars i constructed. The collars needed to be remade b/c they were not long enough to fit. The new ones are longer and a tad taller. Putting the collar on was interesting. You basically insert the neck of the jacket between the two pieces of the collar. I've seen it done before yet never tried it till recently. It can be a bit painful...

The ending is quite fab!

Mikasa also wanted her scarf to be darker so i dipped that into a bucket of dark brown dye. Might do it again yet i'll see what she thinks.

Now add the sleeves, pockets and patches!
